These terms and conditions govern the relationship between The Seamstress Dunstable and the client, regarding the provision of seamstress services for wedding and occasion attire.
1. Dress Fittings
Wedding gowns will require a minimum of 2 dress fittings with the final fitting prior to collection. If your specific dress requires more than 2 fittings you will be notified at your first appointment.
2. Fittings and appointments
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the shoes and any undergarments to be worn on the day are brought to every fitting. Hem alterations will not be made without your shoes and an additional appointment charge of £50 may be incurred.
3. Goal Weight
It’s the client’s responsibility to be at your goal weight for the first fitting and to maintain for subsequent fittings.
4. Weight Measurement Fluctuation
In the event of measurement fluctuation between first and subsequent fittings, additional charges will apply if extra work is required to redo alterations or if additional alterations are needed.
5. Feedback During Fittings
The client must notify the seamstress if the dress does not feel right during a fitting. No responsibility will be taken for ill-fitting dresses if the client has not voiced a concern about that part of the dress during the fitting.
6. Garment Condition
Alterations will only be completed on clean garments. If your garment is preloved, please ensure it has been dry cleaned or washed prior to your first fitting.
7. Client Attendance
It’s the client’s responsibility to attend all fittings. Failure to do so will impact on the finished garment and future claims on quality satisfaction.
8. Appointment Cancellation
Clients must provide at least 24hrs notice for appointment cancellation or rescheduling. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee of £50.
9. Design and Pattern Ownership
All designs and patterns created by The Seamstress Dunstable remain the property of business, The client may not reproduce them without permission.
10. Alteration Limits
Alterations are limited to the scope agreed upon during the initial consultation. Extensive changes after the initial consultation that compromise the garments integrity may not be performed.
11. Invoice and Charges
The client will be provided with an itemised invoice for all alterations discussed during the first fitting, any additional work that is agreed upon after this first fitting will be subject to additional charges.
12. Payment
Payment will be due on collection via cash or bank transfer.
13. Event Cancellation or Postponement
In the event of wedding cancellation or postponement, payment will be required for all completed works. Dresses must be collected within 4 weeks. Dresses not collected after 4 weeks will incur a £35 per week storage charge for a maximum of 12 weeks. (84 days/3 moths)
14. Uncollected Garments
Garments not collected after 12 weeks will be sold or donated to charity. Every endeavour will be made to contact the owner and arrange collection prior to disposal.
15. Liability for Damage.
The seamstress Dunstable is not liable for any damage to garments whilst in transit to and from fittings. Any damage caused during the alteration process will be assessed and rectified at no additional cost to the Client.
16. Guarantees and Warranties
The Seamstress Dunstable guarantees the quality of workmanship for all alterations. Any issues need to be reported as per the garment sign off document.
17. Image Release
The clients agrees to release images of the dress for commercial purposes, promotion or gain , whether sent through email, post etc or found via social media.
18. Amendments to Terms
The terms and conditions may be amended at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes before their next appointment.
19. Data Protection
Personal data provided by the client will be stored in accordance with UK data protection act 2018 and GDPR regulations.
